Since the beginning of the 21st century, Gualerzi decided to comply to the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), a voluntary certification for organizations willing to evaluate and improve their environmental performance.
This instrument is aimed at achieving a sustainable economic development, focusing on companies’ roles and responsibilities.
In this framework, Gualerzi carried out significant investments towards energy efficiency, use of renewable sources, emission reduction and sustainable packaging.
The company obtained multiple environmental certifications to assess and measure the results of these implementations.

Adaptation to the UNI EN ISO 45001 standard is an internationally recognised tool for our company to combat occupational injuries and illnesses more effectively and, at the same time, a means of enabling better performance in terms of prevention policies.
Given that workers’ health and safety in the workplace are inescapable principles, Gualerzi S.p.a. considers the management of safety in the workplace, included in the company strategy and integrated with quality and environmental policies, an opportunity because it improves performance and projects towards a new model of sustainable competitiveness.
An international reference, with a voluntary basis, supports companies in documenting the history of the product, allowing the origin of the products and raw materials used to be demonstrated at any time. The certification attests to our company’s receptiveness to consumer needs, in particular, people’s growing sensitivity to aspects of food safety, quality and traceability and the need for protection against possible food fraud.
The company is included in the AIC (Italian celiac disease association) handbook.
International quality standards based on a shared evaluation method to qualify and select food suppliers. Now considered a necessary requirement to operate in the sector, these standards are an important tool to demonstrate Gualerzi S.p.a.’s commitment to safety, quality and compliance with the regulations governing the food industry.
European (EC Reg. 848/18) and Italian regulations guarantee the conformity of organically produced products at all stages of the production chain, from field to table. In particular, ORGANIC production has proved to be the most sustainable model for the environment, and is still the model the European Union is most relying on for a more sustainable future. The certification demonstrates our company’s awareness of this issue, which guarantees compliance with the regulations and conformity requirements for organically produced products, and ensures, at the same time, care for the environment and protection of biodiversity.
Gualerzi S.p.A. adhered to the Manifesto of the Italian deli meats Promotion Institute (IVSI),
promoting values including a deep bond with local areas, a future-oriented vision and also product quality and sustainability.
